This pandemic has really affected our lifestyle. Students were preoccupied with domestic responsibilities; some just can't find their groove with virtual classes and end up failing their classes. There are many reasons behind these failing grades. Distractions at home, difficulty of adapting to a new environment, stress, lack of discipline, lack of motivation and support, etc.
But, all of us are trying our best to get back on track with our school. So now, I’m going to help you with some of the best tips for studying and focusing. Online classes can offer unique and new challenges, however, you might encounter difficulties if you’re not prepared. Online school setting can actually be fun and more effective compared to a traditional school setting if you find your rhythm! Here are some tips for online learning success to make sure you get the most out of your next class.
1. Treat Online Course As If It's A “Real” Course
One thing to keep in mind, is that you are paying for this online classes just as you would for a traditional, in-person class. To ace a class, not only you have to show up, but you also have to pay attention! So, please do treat your online classes just as you would with face-to-face classes.
2. Practice Time Management
Time management is key! With all this sudden free times, it is easy for us to get lost in time and end up wasting it. Hence, use your time wisely and be productive. Don't forget to have a me time once in a while, you need it! But forget not, procrastination is a whole different thing.
3. Figure Out How You Learn Best
Not everyone learns the same way. Some people find studying with music disturbing and some don't, these people are considered auditory learners! If you think that pictures help you understand better, then you might be a visual learner. On the other hand, kinesthetic learners needs to be actively and physically engaged when learning. You just have to find what works for you!
4. Actively Participate
Active participation means that you are paying attention and it shows your effort! It will definitely improve your score and not to mention, social skill. Other than that, if you do feel yourself falling behind, speak up. Don’t wait until an assignment is almost due to ask questions or report issues. Email your teacher and be proactive in asking for help.
5. Join Online Competitions
Search for opportunities. Go find yourself online competitions and give your best! Who knows if you'll be offered scholarships and whatnot! You can learn more about yourself, improve your skills, and even explore new things.
